What is the Kern MBC Class III Approved Baby Scale?
The Kern Class III Approved Baby Scale is an elegantly shaped baby scale with EC type Class III approval for medical use. These baby scale models are approved in accordance to 93/42/EEC directive and are popular in paediatrics, neonatal wards and hospitals.
What is Class III Approval?
Class III approval means that the MBC can legally be used to weigh in medical environments, such as in neonatal wards, paediatricians and hospitals. The NAWI (Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments Directive) provides a system of classes to determine the level of accuracy that is required when weighing, ranging from 1 – 4. Class I and II are used for high accuracy applications, whilst Class III scales should be used when a weight reading is needed for monitoring, diagnosis or treatment.
What are the benefits of using the Kern MBC Class III Approved Baby Scale?
Kern's MBC baby weighing scale is popular as it has a large weighing pan, constructed from durable ABS plastic which is ergonomically rounded and can be easily cleaned down after use.
The MBC Range features useful and intuitive functions and features to help improved accuracy when weighing moving babies, such as dynamic weighing and a peak hold function.
The MBC has a special comparative weighing function for neonatal care centres for calculating weight gain before and after feeding. A hold function calculates stable weight based on an average imprint, this is then frozen, allowing sufficient time to attend to the young patient first and then take the weight reading.
The scale is fitted with non-slip rubber feet for security, with various customisation options available including a height gauge, carry case, foot and head rests, cleaning cloths, display only in use cover (protects scale from those oops moments!), and rechargeable battery.
